We are excited and proud that we have been chosen as one of the 24 sites by The Fragmented Orchestra, winner of The PRS Foundation New Music Award, to take part in one of the most exciting musical projects we’ve heard of in a long time.

Other sites include The Millenium Stadium, West Pier on Brighton Seafront, Gloucester Cathedral and Institute of Psychiatry at Kings College in London.

The Fragmented Orchestra is a huge distributed musical structure modelled on the firing of the human brain’s neurons. The Fragmented Orchestra will connect 24 public sites across the UK to form a tiny networked cortex, which will adapt, evolve and trigger site-specific sounds via the FACT Gallery in Liverpool, the current European Capital of Culture from December 11th 2008 - February 9th 2009.

We will have the only neuron unit as a wireless mic that can be carried around the studios and placed in different locations and will be using this as creatively as possible. Keep checking back as we’ll be announcing how we’ll be using this very soon.
