Welcome to 2010. We trust it arrived gently and proves to be a happy and healthy year for all of you. Including our little New Year’s day visitors. How thoughtful and generous of spirit it was to receive such a wonderful gift and at such a heart warming time. You restored our faith in humanity and we thank you for that.

We’re raring to go after a lovely few days off with our top buttons undone.

As some of you may know The Big Room has been having a bit of a make over and has been re-floored and soundproofed. We now have set a completion date of Tuesday 26th January. She’s looking beautiful so far and we’re all excited to see the building finally reaching it’s full potential. We’ll get some photos up as soon as we can and maybe work out some kind of way to warm the place up in some celebratory fashion. We’ll keep you informed.

We had a good few great new recordings leave the studio so look out for tracks from The Drums, Delphic and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart through Tin Can plus Suzuki Method and Silverclub on Factory Foundation Recordings.

THE SOUTH BANK SHOW FILMED AT BLUEPRINT STUDIOS.

The South Bank Show meets Elbow, looking at the 18 year career of a band who until recently, were considered a well kept secret by music connoisseurs -musically peerless, critically acclaimed, hugely respected but always in the shadows of the mainstream. Now with the success of the album The Seldon Seen Kid, recorded at Blueprint Studios, their 18 year career has become the music story of 2009.

Blueprint Studios is proud to sponsor the Oxjam Music Festival in Manchester.

Oxjam is Manchester’s most diverse fundraising event and is taking over eight of Manchester’s best loved venues in the Northern Quarter between 1pm and 11pm on Sunday 25th October. Oxjam will be bringing you the best established and new music, art, film, comedy and poetry from the city.

Artists performing include The Sunshine Underground, The Paris Riots, Suzuki Method, Liz Green, Paddy Steer, Rainbow Trout and Meadow plus many more.

Quick catch up from the last couple of months...


Lady Gaga popped in with her moped to perfect her live show with her new band.


The Paris Riots saw off 1700 other bands to play at this years Benicassim Festival in Spain in front of around 4000 windswept and interesting people.

John Herring launched his new album in The Big Room with Andy Needham after completing it in Studio 2 with Gary Hadfield.


The Best Of Manchester saw our good friend Natalie Curtis shortlisted and exhibited at Urbis.

Shoshin have been in Studio 2 for as long as we can remember blending the rhythmic intensity of urban music with the melodic hooks of soul, blues and reggae.
